Ommon from Ticket to Ride’s (my student reel) original character design, for the record. I ended up having to give him knees due to technical difficulties in making him walk and run.
I finally uploaded Ticket to Ride to Vimeo, I’ve been meaning to do this for years! Some of you will already have seen it on youTube.. but I wanted it on vimeo cos vimeo has better standards.
This is my student reel made at Media Design School in Auckland 2007, with a focus on character animation. The main character is Ommon - a vertically challenged alien.
Soundtrack is Sing, Sing, Sing - Benny Goodman.

Simian Mobile Disco - Synthesise. This is a phat song. Another I saw the video at Semi-Permanent Auckland during Kate Moross’s presentation (she collaborated on the video).
She said (and I’m paraphrasing) her goal was to create a visual and audio partnership where after experiencing it, you can’t imagine one without the other again. Nice, I think all music videos should aim to do that.
