I had a fire up my bum once upon a time to write and illustrate a children’s book. It was going to be about an alien that Dexter (a kid) finds and carries with him everywhere in his backpack as he tries to help him make a new spaceship (using the household iron as a shell).
Anyway as this is on my ever expanding shelf of unfinished projects, I thought I might as well post the sketches I did for it so they can at least see the light of day.
A doodle I did at the ripe age of 19 while pondering life
Some life drawing I did a while ago.
Ommon from Ticket to Ride’s (my student reel) original character design, for the record. I ended up having to give him knees due to technical difficulties in making him walk and run.
Uncle Scrooge, my favourite cartoon character of all time :-D
A 3D texturing reel I created in under 2 weeks in Maya. By keeping the concept simple, I was able to demonstrate the skill set I was trying to show in a short amount of time.
Moleskine - a collection of people’s doodles
I thought this was a pretty cool initiative - Moleskine (those little booklets with leather covers that artists carry around to sketch in) has made a site for people to upload their doodles.
The Lochness Imposter -Threadless Design by Ross Zietz. An oldy but a goody -Still one of my favs.
Graffiti and Rubbish Mound, Oberkampf, Paris 11e. Taken by my friend Lisa during one of her excursions in Paris.
When I see this I feel like I am the violinist and I think of how much I hate plastic packaging.
Korean photographer Yeon Doo Jung has an interesting project that reenacts children’s drawings and turns their fantasies into realities
