Angry clowns in El Salvador fear two murderers have smeared their jolly reputation.
Two men dressed in clown outfits in El Salvador shot a man five times in the face and stomach after he refused to give them money.
Local clowns fear the “monstrous act” will reflect badly on them.

Vivid Pollution.  39 breath-stopping hi-res photos of the BP oil spill reaching Louisiana shores.
http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/05/oil_reaches_louisiana_shores.html
Over one month after the initial explosion and sinking of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig, crude oil continues to flow into the Gulf of Mexico…  Based on low estimates, at least 6 million gallons of crude have spewed into the Gulf so far - though some scientists have said they believe the spill already surpasses the 11 million-gallon 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill off Alaska as the worst in U.S. history
As one comment reads: “Why BP? Wrong question! Why we all? BP is drilling for oil for everyone of us! WE all caused this.”
and hi-res photos of the explosion:

Epic Time-Lapse Photography of Eyjafjallajökull, Iceland - May 1st and 2nd, 2010

by Sean Stiegemeier: “So I saw all of these mediocre pictures of that volcano in Iceland nobody can pronounce the name of, so I figured I should go and do better. But the flights to get over took forever as expected (somewhat). 4 days after leaving I finally made it, but the weather was terrible for another 4. Just before leaving it got pretty good for about a day and a half and this is what I managed to get. “

“Magma from the mantle intruded the deep crust and cooled slowly. Pyroxene and olivine started to crystallize from the magma. Since these where heavier than the surrounding magma, they sank to the bottom of the magma chamber where they became layered. Later, the remaining melt intruded higher levels of the continental crust, where it cooled and crystallised as tønsbergite, larvikite or lardalite. Some million years later the rock was carved and polished by glaciers during the ice age.” via

“Tunnel Vision”.  This is one of those accidentally sweet pictures that I take no credit for whatsoever. (Hey, anyone can press the shutter button randomly!). Taken in a tunnel at Taroko Gorge, Taiwan.

Be still my heart!
Yes, that’s right Polaroid has announced it is going back to its roots, the Instant camera. Thanks to Lady Gaga (Polaroid’s newest creative director) and The Impossible Project, expect to see the PIC 1000 (pictured above) out in stores this year.
“The cameras should go on sale this year. They will have flash, red-eye reduction and even a self timer, and come in wood-effect or blobby silver. Price TBA”
